Sheep breeds in Finland
In the year 2020, according to Natural Resources Institute Finland there were 140,200 sheep in Finland, of which 69,500 were ewes.

The most common sheep breed in Finland is the Finnsheep. Other domestic breeds are Kainuu Grey and Åland sheep. Meat breeds raised in Finland include Texel, Oxford Down, Rygja and Dorset, with Suffolk, East Friesian, Gotland sheep and Dorper having been additionally introduced in recent years.
The goal of sheep selective breeding is to improve both the quality of sheep products and the profitability of sheep farming.
